【School Trip to Hawaii】
Day3afternoon
In the afternoon today, we attended another wonderful workshop.
We learned about Hawaiian culture and language from one of the amazing professors here at Kapi'olani Community College. She showed us various items which were actually used by the native Hawaiian people here on Oahu. There were instruments, baskets, tools, and even weapons! We learned about an ahupua'a. It is a section of land from mountain to sea. An ahupua'a is self-sustaining and gave the people everything they needed for life. Hawaiian people took care of the land and everyone contributed to the community by doing their job. People shared everything. SDGs were important to Hawaiian people 100s of years ago!
